Course Overview

To introduce trainees to maritime industry with basic theoretical knowledge in general ship board operations in harmony with their duties To facilitate students to maritime industry to adapt with confidence to the demands and opportunities of a team approach to shipboard operations On successful completion of the 1-month course the trainee will have:

  • A basic knowledge of watch-keeping, general shipboard operations and maintenance
  • A firm basic for further development of knowledge and skills in practical work situations under supervision onboard ship
  • An appropriate fundamental knowledge of Code of Safe Working Practices for Merchant Seamen.
