Course Overview
Crane Operator Proficiency Courses run at the UMTC was initiated as a result of many accidents and incidents with Ship Cranes, shore cranes, mobile cranes and gantry cranes. Simulator training is one of the initiatives focused on, with the intention of reducing accidents and incidents related to crane operations. This course has been designed to meet the requirements of ship owners, charters and all of our clients. The aim of the course is to increase the safety of crane operations between ship and shore base, and to reduce the risk of collisions between vessels and installations.
- Cargo handling, loading, discharging and shifting.
- Moving and shifting cargo, hatch covers and tween deck pontoon.
- Carrying provision, stores and spare parts.
- Maintenance procedures.
