The aims of advanced lathe operation course are as follows:

To acquire technical skills, knowledge and practices in the main components, accessories and turning tools of a lathe machine and commonly used turning equipment.
To be able to perform shipboard repair and maintenance operation in the proper manner with the correct safe working practices.
To learn correct lathe operation knowledge
To achieve competent manual skills
To ensure consistently reliable safe working practice
To gain hands-on experience of manual skills in metal cutting process

The aims of the course will be achieved by providing training of theoretical lectures and practical workshop exercises in the respective subject areas
