Course Overview

Able Seafarer Engine Upgrading Course is essential to provide knowledge and skills to carry out in a manned engine-room or designated to perform duties in a periodically unmanned engine-room on a sea going ship power by main propulsion machinery of 750 KW propulsion power or more. STCW Convention, Regulation III/5.

Function 1: Marine engineering at the support level

Contribute to a safe Engineering watch Contribute to the monitoring and controlling of an engine-room watch Contribute to a fueling and oil transfer operations Contribute to bilge and Ballast operations

Function 2: Electrical, electronic and control engineering at the support level

Contribute to the operation of equipment and machinery Safe use of electrical equipment

Function 4: Controlling the operation of the ship and care for persons on board at the support level
